Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is established in 1956. This University offer’s 5 year course. It is located in Guangzhou. Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZUCM) is originally known as Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (GZUTCM). It is one of the four oldest TCM higher education institutes in China and one of the first higher education institutes approved to award master and doctorate degree in China. At present, there are around 23,000 students and 4668 faculties.

GZUCM has developed into a bustling university with two campuses (San Yuan Li Campus in Baiyu district and Higher Education Mega Center Campus in Panyu district), 14 schools, 4 directly-affiliated hospitals, 17 indirectly-affiliated hospitals, 1 jointly-built hospital and 20 national key featured clinical care departments, which have made great contribution to the health care of people in Guangdong province and Engineering, Administration, Economics, Arts and Education. Among these, study of Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina, Pharmaceutical Engineering are four branded Bachelor programs in GZUCM. For the postgraduate education, it boasts 19 doctoral degree programs in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Integration of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, 24 master degree programs in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Integration of Chinese Medicine and China as a whole with its reputable clinical care service. In 2009, the annual outpatient visit of our affiliated hospitals comes to over 8 million and the annual inpatient visit reaches over 90,000.
GZUCM offers varied programs from Bachelor degree, Master degree, Doctoral degree, to postdoctoral studies. For study in Bachelor degree, we have 16 programs in Medicine, Sciences, Western Medicine, and 24 master degree programs in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Integration of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Philosophy, Administration and Education and 3 postdoctoral sies and regions tations. Until now, it has produced nearly 60,000 graduates, covering over 100 countries.
Through the development of several decades, GZUCM has formed its own featured areas, such as prevention and treatment of malaria by Artemisinin, Spleen and Stomach Theory, prevention and treatment of SARS, difficult osteoarticular diseases and AIDS by Chinese Medicine, development of Chinese Herbal Medicine resources in the south.
From 1974, GZUCM begins to receive foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and up to now, thousands of students from 113 countries and regions come to study in GZUCM. In the past decades, we have built friendly partnership with over 50 countries and regions such as the USA, Canada, the UK, Japan, Australia, Spain, France, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and etc. and received delegations from 101 countries and regions. The International Conferences of Chinese Medicine hosted by GZUCM and Guangdong Provincial TCM Museum have become the window for TCM development overseas.
