Janaki Medical College (JMC)is located in Janakpurdham, Nepal. The college with established in 2003. The college provides comprehensive healthcare education, research and training facilities to medical professionals. The vision of the inception of the medical institute and the hospital was to provide affordable and professional delivery of healthcare facilities. The institution is a Constituent Unit of Ram Janaki Health Foundation and is affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU). The various medical degree and diploma courses are recognized by the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).
The college is renowned for its courses with various specializations in Anatomy, Integrated Basic Medicine, Surgery, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, and Radiology etc. Admission to 5 and a half years’ MBBS course inclusive of one year’s internship period is based on the previous academic records. The selection is based on merit in the qualifying examinations like HSC, with minimum aggregate of 50% score in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English. The minimum age for an undergraduate medical student has to be 17, on or before 31st July, of the year of admission. The college has been granted permission to admit 100 students annually, for MBBS programs, by NMC. International students have to appear for examination and interview conducted by the college Selection Board. Nepalese students have to appear for IOM entrance test and Selection Board Interview.
The college-affiliated teaching hospital and research centre are equipped with super-specialized, digitalized, laboratories and operation theatres for catering to diverse investigations in Microbiology, Anesthesiology, Biochemistry, Radiology etc. The digitalized laboratories are well-equipped for conducting various investigations using Radiography, CT scan, X-ray Machine, MRI, Ultra-sonography etc. The campus boasts of, lecture halls, well-equipped museums, Central Library, demonstration room, dissection hall, modernized computer labs, Internet connectivity, sports complex, playground, and separate hostel for girls and boys, mess facilities, cultural activity centre, ATM, and much more, for dissemination of world-class educational services to students.
JMC offers its teaching-learning facilities to our esteemed students through our available multipurpose halls, lecture rooms, demonstration and tutorials rooms situated in different blocks including academic buildings and hospitals buildings.
The College possesses two hospitals, one in Ramdaiya of 160 beds and another 365 bedded-hospital in the city center of Janakpur. JMC has a master plan to expand its hospitals as the super-specialty hospital in Dhanusha district.
The College has its own hostels for boys and girls as well as for the faculties. JMC has managed sufficient spaces for theoretical and practical classes, multipurpose halls, demonstration rooms, tutorial rooms, laboratories, library, canteens, and meeting in order to provide quality medical education to its students.
