Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS) is a private medical college located at Pokhara, in Nepal. It is associated with Manipal Teaching Hospital, and enrols about 145 students each year for the MBBS medical qualification.

Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS), Pokhara was established in 1994 as a collaboration between the Manipal Group and the Government of Nepal and the 750-bed Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara was inaugurated in 1998.

The college and hospital have been set up with the most modern facilities for modern education and health delivery. The college is affiliated to the Kathmandu University.

It offers a five and a half years MBBS Degree (four and a half years + one year internship) programme. The language of instruction is English.

MCOMS started postgraduate programmes and the School of Nursing & Allied Health programmes in the year 2000.

A medical and educational revolution is taking place within the precincts of the Manipal College of Medical Sciences and Manipal Teaching Hospital at Pokhara, 200km west of Kathmandu.

While delivering the healthcare services to the patients, Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH) provides the clinical education and training necessary for the doctors, nurses, and other health professionals. This hospital campus is spread across 10 hectares of land, with following independent units. Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH) is a 700-bedded hospital, located at Phulbari, Pokhara. The 5-storey hospital building houses an extensive medical library, students classrooms, a canteen, the main atrium, an auditorium along with outpatient departments and inpatient wards.

  • Generator House Complex: Has Caterpillar Diesel Generators (2 units, total capacity 500 KV for round-the-clock power back-up), Pump House with overhead tanks (with separate reservoir for fire-hose supply line) and Incinerator
  • ETP complex: The effluent treatment plant handles and processes all liquid waste with no contamination/pollution to the adjacent river.

There are also other useful amenities available in the hospital including ATM, Bank Counter, Coffee Shop, Canteen, Spectacle Shop and a Helipad for air-lifting patients. At least 50% marks in Physics (P), Chemistry(C), Biology (B) and English (E) and a minimum aggregate of 50% marks at the XIIth/A Level or equivalent examination.
