UCSI University was established in 1986. Originally the Canadian Institute of Computer Studies, the school has evolved with accreditation. In 1990, it became Sedaya College, later Sedaya International College. In 2003 it became University College Sedaya International (UCSI), and in 2008 when it became a full university was renamed UCSI University. UCSI University is situated in the centre of Kuala Lumpur.

UCSI University is a multi-campus private university based in Malaysia.UCSI University is a member of the UCSI Education Group which comprises UCSI International School Springhill, UCSI International School Subang, Sri UCSI School, UCSI Child Development Centre, UCSI Publishing House and UCSI Extension.

Established in 1986, UCSI University currently has three campuses located in Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu, and Sarawak.

Situated on a sprawling 20-acres, the Campus in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur offers a fully wireless, cutting-edge access to the world of e-learning and e-resources. This purpose-built Campus can accommodate up to 50,000 students.

The Terengganu Campus in Bukit Khor, Terengganu, opened its doors in 2007 to medical students in their third to fifth years of studies. This Campus houses students undergoing their clinical training at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu, the School of Education and the oil and gas management degree programmes run under the Faculty of business and information science.

The UCSI University Sarawak Campus situated in Kuching, Sarawak provides a dynamic and stimulating environment in which to study hospitality, tourism, events management, retailing, industrial relations and international business. This Campus is strongly linked with the industry’s best such as Four Points by Sheraton of Starwood Hotels and Resort Worldwide, the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, the Sarawak Tourism Board, and many more.

In February 2008, UCSI University entered into an agreement with West Synergy Sdn. Bhd. (a member of The MUI Group) for the establishment of an education township. This township, covering some 160-acres situated at Bandar Springhill, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan will have the UCSI University Hospital as the nation’s first private teaching hospital, the new UCSI International School, and the new five-star UCSI Resort Hotel and Convention Centre.

There are two options for UCSI University accommodations:

• On-campus Accommodation – (Residential Halls)
• Off-campus Accommodation – (Angkasa Condo)

The on-campus residential halls are on the campus while the off-campus accommodations are located within walking distance to the University. These premises have easy access to many amenities such as public transportations, banks, the post office, restaurants, supermarkets, the money changer and others.

Angkasa Condo is one of the popular and convenient off-campus accommodations for UCSI University students. It offers both sharing and single room with the choice of with or without air-condition. There is a 24-hour security service to ensure the safety of students and to safeguard the premises.

The UCSI University Library is a five-storey building which currently holds about 50,000 volumes of text and reference books, printed journals, music scores and audio-visual items for students to conduct their self-directed researches and studies for their course studies. Librarians are also readily-available to advise, guide and assist users in all aspects of library use, the library facilities, and the computerized services. Workstations with internet facilities and access to the e-mail, the library’s online catalogues, and other sources of information during the library operational hours are also available for free. CD-ROMs, audio CDs and videocassettes are also available as supplementary references. The current library facilities are adequate for UCSI U’s programmers and can accommodate the increasing student population with a maximum seating of 500 at a time.
