Universal College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) was established in the year 1998 with the affiliation of T.U and recognized by Nepal Medical Council (NMC) & is considered as the pioneer institute in Nepal in the field of Medicine & dentistry. This college was established for training eminent medical professionals from all over the world. As on today, more than 2000 doctors including MBBS, BDS & Post Graduation(PG) have passed out from the college & are practicing all over the world.

It is located very close to the Indian border which is just 2 kms from Sounauli the last destination of the Indian Border. Sounauli is accessible from Gorkhpur by road, which takes 2 hrs journey by car. By air, the Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu is well connected with all major cities, worldwide.

Facilities for running the Medical College like, well equipped Laboratories, modern Library, separate Hostels for boys and girls under the strict guidance of Wardens and 24 hours Security, availability of UCMS Teaching Hospital to the Students for Clinical teaching etc. have been effectively implemented by the Management, well in advance. The Administrative Office of the College at Kathmandu supervises all travel requirements and other acilities for the students and also their visitors.Lumbini,with its international reputation as a pilgrim center, has excellent hotel facilities that will ensure a comfortable stay for the visitors.Indian, Chinese, Nepalese, Continental and a variety of other cuisines are served. Lumbini is geographically located in the Therai region that comprises of plain lands and the climate is comparable to that of the North Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi. During summer, the temperature could reach upto 40o C and in winter it falls to a minimum of 10o C. The management has made adequate arrangements in the College and Hostels to reckon with the climate conditions, including provision of air-cooled and heated hostel rooms.

The UCMS Basic Science Campus is situated at Ranigaon, Bhairahawa. The facilities that we provide includes modern and fully equipped Laboratories, air conditioned classrooms, Central Library with seating capacity of more than 300 students, Computer Lab with 24 hours internet/wifi facilities.

The Basic Science block includes Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology Labs as per the need of the students. UCMS is having 790 bedded teaching hospital with all the ultra modern equipments, facilities, experienced teaching faculties in various departments which help our students to be globally competitive in the field of medicine.

UCMS provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with separate PG hostel in the campus.College has accommodation facilities for more than 800 students within the campus premises. College also has other hostels situated in the city of Bhairahawa within 2 KM distance from the campus. All the hostels are facilitated with canteen, 24 hours security, wardens, etc. A hygienic and well equipped canteen is functioning in the campus where food is served to match the tastes of students hailing from different regions and countries.

The College with the help of an experienced and internationally reputed Security Agency in co-ordination with local Police Authorities, effectively supervises the Universal Campus security requirements.
